Universal Music Special Markets' Pop & Soul Holiday Hits collects ten Christmas and holiday-associated tunes from the vaults of Universal. Much of this dates from the '90s -- Boyz II Men's "Let It Snow," Vanessa Williams' "Baby It's Cold Outside," Squirrel Nut Zippers' "Hot Christmas," Brian McKnight's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," and Hanson's "Everybody Knows the Claus" -- but it also stretches back to the '80s (Bryan Adams' "Christmas Time") and the '70s (Jackson 5's "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," the Temptations' "Silent Night," Moody Blues' "What Child Is This"). This gives the compilation quite a bit of variety, keeping it interesting from beginning to end, which, in turn, makes it a fun budget-line compilation.
