First things first. This book is the same story as "On the Sunny Shore". A different translator, but otherwise identical. So don't buy both!
Anyway, this is really a short story or novelette. It's well-written, of course, but rather slight. I enjoyed it, but this is my favorite author. I'd recommend only to Sienkiewicz completists.
